Support for ADD / ADHD
Hi--I watched a television show recently about ADD and how it is possible to have fulfilling marriages when one spouse has ADD stuff going on. I need support. I hope this is enough to get things started even though I have a lot more to say.

Dr Orlov, I don't remember her first name, has written atleast one book on the subject. The archived class sure explains alot of what is going on...very helpful, even moreso if both parties can listen...hope this helps for starters. Best wishes

Permalink Reply by Jim on April 1, 2012 at 8:27pm Norma--Your reply could have been written by my wife---The key thing for us has been my study of ADD--I understand a few things better these days and I must remind myself that she cannot stop some of this stuff. I gave up alcohol cuz this made our fights more frequent and crazier. My understanding off ADD and giving up booze has made our life better. I recommend that spouses of adder's learn as much as possible about ADD--ADD is real--couples can enjoy each other--it just takes extra work--Jim

Permalink Reply by Jim on April 9, 2012 at 8:20pm Norma--I was pleasantly surprised to see a paperback on ADD lying around on the floor tonight. It wasn't mine so, it must be my wife's. This could be a good sign that she is trying to gain some insight into ADD.

Jim >>> yep, & when we first got together, my spouse had never heard of this disorder & thought that I was 'faking it' to get by with being a you-know-what :( Those were dark times, but we worked thru them & now have a mostly great relationship :).
