Taking Mini Breaks and Motivation

Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a minute (because I am, as the title of this blog says, "taking a mini break").  I have found that one of the best ways for me to get through work during the day is by taking quick breaks every half hour.  I am trying to keep my breaks between 5-10 minutes.  Usually I do something quick and fun; I might play with my dog for a second, make a move on words with friend (iPhone app), or write a quick blog post like this.  These breaks seem to give me the…See More

2011

1. Finished one full year of grad school in library & Information Science and maintained a 3.9 GPA

2. Started working as a graduate research assistant for a professor

3. Left a relationship with a significant other that was negative for both of us & entered a new healthier relationship

4. Adopted one amazing terrier/german shepherd rescue puppy

5. Learned how to create a web page using HTML and CSS

Hi everyone, my *middle* name is Elizabeth and I am 25 years old.  I was diagnosed with ADD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) my senior year of high school when I was 18.  Like many have already mentioned, I always felt a little bit different from a very young age.  School was a struggle from day one but thankfully I have one tenacious mother who is a school teacher and, as I like to call her, a loving drill sargent.  I know I would not have gotten through school without her helping and…

Forgive me Elizabeth. I thought you were my friend from Greensboro, NC who asked me to go to Living with ADD. By the way, I worked for VSE in Alexandria, Va a few years ago.
